Germany to teach Indian languages in its Educational institutions

Following External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj’s meeting with German counterpart Frank Walter Steinmeir and German Education Minister Johanna Wanka, it has been decided that Germany will promote Indian languages including Sanskrit in their educational institutions while India will continue to teach German language as an additional language in colleges. Moreover Sushma Swaraj also raised problems faced by Indian students while pursuing education in Germany like residency status, renewal of visa and accommodation. Currently more than 10,000 Indian students are studying in Germany while more than 800 German students are pursuing programs in India.
