British Columbia places a temporary halt on accepting application for its provincial nominee program under Skilled Immigration System and Express Entry System. British Columbia provincial nominee program had a total of 5,500 applications for 2015 which was believed to be benefit for the labour market. Moreover it has received majority of applications for skilled immigration system and express entry program. However, British Columbia will continue to accept applications under the Health Care Professional and Northeast pilot project. Entrepreneur Immigration Stream will also continue to accept applications to a maximum limit of 200. British Columbia provincial nominee program is expected to reopen its skilled immigration system and express entry system by early 2016 with a new points system.
